Hi, I'm looking for data for a Winchester 1892 Takedown Limited Edition Series 44-40 for deer hunting. I realize this is about a 100 yard gun and would like to have data for a load that's close or equivelant to a 44 magnum. I thank all in advance.

Not happening. 44/40 is nowhere near close to 44 magnum, and anyone giving you magnum data is asking to be sued when you blow your gun up.

The rifle is one of the modern Winchester 1892 Takedown versions made by Miroku in Japan, not an antique. Winchester also made 1892's chambered for the 44 & 357 mag around the same time. There used to be high velocity ammo available in 44-40 but was not suitable in older revolvers and rifles. I understand this ammo has not been on the market for some time.
