Looking for a recipe for some 185 GR JHP's I picked up at a gun show quite some time ago. My Speer reloading manual seems to list everything but these.
I know it's going to be somewhere between 5.8-6.8 gr but I want to be sure.
PS, using CCI primers and Unique powder.

Thanks for any help.

185gr JHP and FPJ Match
Unique, Start=5.7gr, Max = 7.7gr

Lyman 48
185gr JSWC
Unique, Start=4.7gr, Max = 7.5gr

Lyman 48
185gr JHP
Unique, Start=4.8gr, Max = 7.8gr.

Alliant data list Max only, reduce by 10% to start.

Today almost every powder manufacture has an online reloading data center. Alliant's says:

http://www.alliantpowder.com/reload...=1&weight=185&shellid=35&bulletid=59&bdid=188

45ACP
Bullet 185 gr Speer GDHP
Cartridge OAL 1.2 inches
Test barrel length 4.4 inches
Primers used CCI 300
Unique 8.2 grains
Velocity 1,015 FPS

But do go to the web site and verify the data. Here's the index for other cartridges.

Thanks for that Link, Wow would never have guessed 8.2 grs. My Speer reloading manual is #11, do I need a new one? Not much from it seems to match what I'm seeing on their online sight.

You need to buy a new manual every few years and not from just one source but many. I have a bookcase full of them I have collected over the years and the ones I use most often are the latest ones. I often compare loads between them and rarely if ever use the hottest one.
