All I can state is what I was told by Savage-

    I have a Savage 12 F/TR in .223. Savage says NO to 5.56 ammo.

Good article, and well written! From the article; Does this mean that everyone should start firing 5.56 in their .223 chambers? No.

But...but...my 556 fits in my .280 Rem chamber. It's okay since it fits, right?

So does that mean I can shoot 270s in my 30-06?

I'll just continue with my other frugal shooting methods. My SIL acquired a couple cans of 7.62 NATO that my tax dollars have paid for. I jam some tissue in the chamber of my 06 and follow that with a 308. The tissue holds the round against the face of the bolt.

Honest Injun, I found some "Blown out", split-down-the seam .40 S&W shells at the range. After closer inspection, it appears they were fired in a .45 cal pistol, I know this because I took one of my .45 ACP brass shells and aligned it to the 'expanded' end. Sure enough....Found at least 5. Turned them into the RSO. They'll be keeping a closer eye on things!

I believe it. The more popular one seems to be 9s through a 40.

I have had several Federal Agents come in with complaints that their 9MM S&W not feeding. I dropped the mag and immediately saw they were loaded with 380 ACP and they argued with me that it said 9MM on head stamp. 9MM KURZ. Now how do you argue with that kind of logic???? haha.

I was walking around a flea market and saw guys looking at a Ruger 22 Single Six and everyone turned it down. I looked at it and bought it. The PO had lost the 22LR cylinder and only had the mag cylinder which ruptured the cases when fired with 22LR.

I called a buddy who had a new 22LR cylinder he sent me. I fitted it and wound up with a Super Single Six for 100.00. One of my better flea market finds.
