I just bought an excellant condition 521t, and would like to find out when it was made. The barrel date code, pn, has the number 61 stamped behind it. Does anyone know what the 61 stands for?

Do you have a picture of the barrel ? I'm not sure if that is the year code or not.

I don't have a way to post pictures right now. It's obviously a Remington stamping. I just have never heard of a numerical year stamp. Everything is in one line, right where it is supposed to be.

I put the date code in the first post. What I'm wondering is what the 61 with it stands for. Thanks for the info though.

The date code pn would be June 1966. The 61 is probably an inspector's stamp.

Help me out. Was the 521 the same as the 514 but a repeater?

It is a target model. Wider fore arm and five shot mag. Came with a receiver sight. Action is very similar. I don't know the exact difference.

can anyone tell me where to find the serial # is on A Remington 521T

If it has a serial number it may be on the bottom of the barrel in front of the forend. I just checked mine and it does not have one. Before 1968 not all long guns had serial numbers.
