hi all, i'm new to the forum, 1st question.
I am new to reloading personally, been helping older generations for years and learning. watched my grandfather create some brass to fit his needs.

here is my question, can I trim down 9x21 brass to 9x19? I have read from others worried about headstamp but i'll be the only one picking up the brass and worried about headstamp. I usually shoot .45 acp and just bought the 9mm for the wife. with ammo more popular than a cheerleader on prom night and brass the same, i found a GOOD deal on the 9x21 and thought to just trim it down to fit my needs.

any help, would be wonderful

A couple of weeks ago I would have said that is was not a good idea. Then I read the thread about cutting the 9x19 down to work in a Makarov, so now I would say Why Not!!

Hey thanks for responding gdmoody everything I have been reading about the 9x21 is that it has the thickness of the 9mm +p. Just figured I would throw this out and get some advice on the matter!!

The 9x21 has a smaller rim diameter, which may or may not cause ejecting problems. I would measure wall thickness after trimming one back also. The 9x19 works in the 9x18 because the Mak has a larger chamber so you have to blow out the reworked 9x19 to fit. Hope that makes some sense.
