Ron,

What can I say? words cannot express the loss I feel
of not only a "Good Guy" but a Veteran who jumped
in the first rank when his country called and a guy
who contributed so much to not only this site and
the VMBB but to others as well.

One could not have asked for a better friend.

I salute you my friend, you will always be missed!

Ron,

Go with God, old son. The only thing I can figure is that a spot opened up on the shooting bench up there. Can you imagine? Every day is 60 degrees and no wind. Heavenly spotters to call your shots. And all the Dillon presses are on full auto.

To the family, I express my gratitude at the opportunity to have corresponded with Ron on and off these boards. He was one of the good ones. Now, I know the depth of your sorrow (I've been there, too) and I have one small bit of advice. Let the next few days be days of joy and fond remembrance! There is no better place for laughter than a funeral. Cry your tears, as you must, but temper them with a smile.

God bless,

Andrew "Doc" Petty

Ron - god bless you for all the joy and laughter you brought to the boards. For all the information you were willing to share with those of us you never met, the good and the bad. For showing some of us that life isn't all that hard in all reality and that looking on the bright side is a good thing. May god keep you close beside him in the coming eternity.

To Ron's family - my heart goes out to you all!

Ron,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, your knowledge, and your love. Though I never got to meet you in real life, I hope I am granted passage to Heaven, so that I might meet you another day. My sympathy to the family-- may your love and memories make the grief pass quickly. God Bless Your Father, so that he can watch over you.

I read numerous posts of your father's on the other sites, particularly the Vietnam Memories Bulletin Board. I am truly saddened to hear of the news of his passing. This world is once again robbed of one of the great ones. You have my deepest sympathy and I wish you and your family all the peace that is possible during this time.

Winter

Always remembering…

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there I do not sleep,
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift up lifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there, I did not die.

Ron has gone, it makes me wish this internet stuff would have gotten here sooner. It has given us all a great way to come togather. We need to take advantage of it. Ron was a first class person and I'm sure he is with the Lord.
I didn't know nearly long enough or well enough. I think that's a great loss.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am standing on the seashore
A ship spreads her sails to the morning breeze
and starts for the ocean
I stand watching her until she fades on the horizon, and someone at my side says "She is gone!"
Gone where? The loss of sight is in me, not in her.
Just at the moment when someone says "She is gone", there are others who are watching her coming.
Other voices take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!"
And that is dying

God bless you all, Pelican
