Reply | Edit | Del All A question about Ruger revolvers?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Actually two questions:
1) Is the GP100 the size of a K-frame or a little bit smaller?
2) Is the SP101 the size of a J-frame or a little bit bigger?
Thanks

I think you've got them right -
SP101 ~ J
GP100 ~ K
No hard facts, just guessing.

I've been looking for the specs, and can't find what I'm looking for. I have to be in town tomorrow, so I'll stop by the gun shop and take a look see.

You will find that although they are roughly the same size, the Ruger will be generally thicker and heavier. S&W used that in an advertising campaign just after the GP series was announced, showing a big old hamburger on a plate. Something like "thicker is better in some things, but not guns."
