I have been hauling in my scrap pile YS. Not much money for it but it's all about cleaning up the mess I made at my land.
The big mess is 200 ton of dirt I need to move. I'm making a 100 yd back
stop . ( asked if anyone had dirt in the area & got 200 ton Surprise ! )
That would be a big back stop ! Now I have to move it all down range.
    ( I need to buy bigger equipment ! )

    Will do :):):)

Edit: She doesn't much care where I sleep when I travel without her, but her idea of roughing it is a small room (not a suite) at the Sheraton....

Firpo, remind me. Is that a .22? If so it looks a lot like the one I learned to shoot with; dad had it as a boy and it now resides in my brother's gun safe.

    Amen

Why yes it is BlackEagle. Stevens Crackshot 26 in 22LR. Not sure if they made it in other calibers but I'm thinking not. It will be nice having it functional again. It will be moved up to squirrel and rabbit deturant duty. As I recall it is reasonably accurate. I'll post some target pics once I get'r running again.

Not so good. Took it to a gunsmith who was supposed to have fixed it but after firing three different ammunition manufacturers I still couldn't get it to fire more than 40%. Took the bolt out and I'll be dipped it the striker only sticks out .034" past the bolt face. Dang It! Called the guy who acted like it was no big deal. "Just bring it back" he told me. It's not like this guy is right around the corner. I did get it back to him yesterday and it should be done next week. I told him I wanted that pin sticking out .050" like I asked for when I dropped it off the first time. Hopefully he gets it right this time. If not I know where I'm bringing it next.

Hope this time he gets it right. Can't wait to see a range report on it.

It's simple and effective. As I recall, it was quite accurate.

I look forward to seeing the range report.

Okay boys and girls, guess what arrived today? Yup, that's right! The screw Griz made me for my Crackshot........and it fits perfectly. Here are before and after pictures for your consumption, man what difference. I can't wait to take it out for a little range time. I'd be lying if I didn't say I am a little nervous that somehow I'll do something to damage the screw but I'm sure it will be just fine. I plan on only shooting standard velocity ammunition or slower just to make sure I don't bend this one. Don't plan on shooting it regularly but once I'm confident I have it sighted in it will serve active duty for squirrel and bunny mitigation. :D

    You're most welcome.

It gave me something meaningful to do for someone else and it helped me get my mind off of other things.
