There's a good chance it doesn't have a serial number. Many older manufacturers didn't bother because they didn't have to. I'm fairly certain it wasn't until GCA 1968 that it was required. I once had a Marlin Glenfield .22 cal rifle that we could never find a serial number on it anywhere. I bought new in the store during 1968 or 1969 so it wasn't removed by someone previous to my ownership. If the gun was made prior to 1968 and doesn't have a serial number, that is not a violation of the law.Where can I locate the serial number on an American Bulldog 38 revolver?
