Two good things. I was able to score a brick of 22 ammo at wallyworld last night...AND the gunshop actually got me some 7.62x39 ammo. I got the 762 stuff for $180 for 500 rounds. Not as cheap as the old days but at least i was able to get some....and cheaper than what i have seen "available" on the internet. Online you have two choices... High dollar and available...or much less expensive but not available to ship till Mid September.

I also picked up just one box of .357 mag ammo for a not to bad price of $16 I forget the brand but its the personal protection variety. I'll go look...
Its MagTech Guardian Gold .357mag 125 grain JHP. Listed muzzel velocity is 1319 fps 483 fp energy. They kinda look like golden sabers but these little 357s have a huge hollow point on them for such a small bullet!
MagTech makes really awsome plinking ammo so i figured i'd give them a try on the premium stuff.

Got 4 cases of .22 lr the other day, no special deal, just made me happy. 20k rounds, real happy. Comfortable blowing of a few hundred one at a time for hours......
    Wish I had same Q in .308.........
Then I'd be hyperventilating I'd be so happy

Glad to hear you got some 7.62x39, Mike. I have a 700 round spam can that I'm trying not open, but I'm down to just 2.5 boxes (50 rounds) other than that, so it may open soon.

There's a surplus store near my parents' house that has a dozen or so of those cans sitting around still. They are $299 each, so they aren't moving just yet. I'm sure they'll start going soon, though.

I scored a bulk pack of Remington .22 ammo at wal mart last week. That was the first I have seen in months. They had 5 or 6 in the display case and the clerk pulled mine out from under the counter so I know they had more. 18 bucks after tax though!

I don't remember exactly how much it was but I do remember not getting much change back out of my 20. I also told the clerk it wasn't for pistol even though some it will find it's way into one!;)

I was in a local Wal-Mart today and snagged the last box of 7.62x39 that they had. Winchester white box, 40 rds, 124 gr FMJ $27.97 after tax. As I was putting it away, I did inventory on my 7.62 supply. I need more lead core:p
