Wife suggested that I put my generator out in the yard sale. I reminded her of the last time I let her talk me into that. Power went out for 4 days. That time we were on well water. All we had was my 600W inverter for lights and internet all cooking was done on the BBQ,toilets were at the 24hour WalMart.

My wife talked me into having a garage sale, she drug all her crap out of the closet, she kept all the money and what didn't sell (four totes of stuff) she left in garage for me to clean up.
    NEVER AGAIN.

I would've told mine, that's fine, I won't need even half that much.
    I don't sell my stuff.

Men must set the garage sale rules.

    1. We split the $$$ earned. We (men) probably bought that present (crap) for her anyway.
    2. She cannot decide what of "my crap" I want to sell.
    3. I'm setting the time and date of the sale.
    4. she puts her crap back in the closet or wherever after the sale is over.
    5. I mark the prices for my crap, and she marks hers.
    6. I arrange the crap on the tables, I don't want a pile of winter coats on top of the gun
    bible's.

I remember being up there for a couple of those yard sales. You have to be there to see one to appreciate that it takes place along the entire peninsula 30 or more miles. Kick in the head to go from town to town to see who has gathered the other guys junk from previous sales.

We have something similar. A whole neighborhood does it. They call it Kingswood Rummage. People come in from other states like Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska. I avoid it like the plague

This is a 30 mile Stretch from one end of the Peninsula to the other and from one side to the other. Traffic will be terrible I am sure, Good thing that the local grocery store is with in about 4 blocks. I am not allowed to go shopping though (I have to provide Security at our house and I am also the Community Watch Block Captain as well( there are only 5 houses on our block))!

Yard sale officially starts at 8am tomorrow morning. Some people have enough stuff they have rented vacant lots and put up 40 foot tents to sell there forgotten treasures in.

We are a small pipsqueak by comparison. have 11 tables most 6 foot. Anything that can be used as a table is also being pressed into service.

Here it is nearly 2 am and I am just finishing up the pricing that has taken us a week to do. Most of the stuff we have is going to be of interest to the female shoppers. Though if I can sell what guy stuff I have put in the sale for the prices (modest but not cheap) I should be able to buy some kind of Firearms related stuff, and maybe even a new Rifle of some kind. We ended up with a a bunch of valuable Porcelain Dolls that were in our Aunts collection (a couple worth more than $400, most in the $75 to $125 range. We are hoping to clear over $500 for the 4 day weekend. There are people in town from as far away as Colorado, California, New Mexico and Vancouver BC. just for this event.
