Just got a 1911A1 ser.# indicates 1943. Stamped with crossed cannons and has an SA stamp. Does the SA indicate aSpringfield Armoury rebuild. also stamped GHD has a P under mag release and a tiny #90 on trigger guard. it is parkerized and goes 99% or close to it. If the SA stamp DOES indicate a rebuild, how does that effect the value and by how much? any info apprciated thanx

Sounds like you have a Genuine Colt. The GHD stamp is the Army inspector of Ordnance stamp. GHD stands for Guy H. Drewry a Brig. General and was a inspector from Jun-42 to Jul 45. The P stamp is a Proof stamp. Not real sure what the #90 markings mean. The crossed cannons you were mentioning were a final inspection mark on Colts, Ithacas and Remington Rand pistols from 1942-1945. All Colts Crossed cannons inspection marks were stamped after parkerizing , They are faint but should show some bright or burnished areas. Hope this helps
