I have a broomhandle mauser serial number 604990 on all parts except the block under the hammer and it is numbered 5629 all other parts are the 604990. The left side reads Mauser and on the right side it says: Waffenfabrik Mauser and under that it reads: Oberndorf then a small letter "A" and then Neckar.

the gun is not in mint shape by no means however there may be some small blimishes on both sides the barrel looks ok but not in original condition. the wood handles are well used but ov rerall it is or could be a very good gun to clean up. it does have the retention ring under the handle. the slide pulls back easily and the spring pushes up the follower strong. on the hammer has the stamp for new safety and has the last three digits of the serial number.. or 990 stamped on it. I dont know much else about it and was hoping to find out what it might be worth.. thank you..

Your broomhandle appears to be a pre-war commercial. You did not mention the condition of the bore, but in the condition you describe it is a non-matching shooter and is of no interest to collectors. As a shooter it has a value of $250 to $300.
