I do not know a lot about scopes, but I would like to say I bought a bsa sweet 17 4-12x40 for my Marlin 917v 17hmr. I have not regreted it, it came with the 17 grain turet. I shoot the 20 grain CCI holowpoint. I contacted bsa and they are sending me the 20 grain turet free of charge, said it was supposed to be there. but any how, I love this scope, I have let many of my friends shoot with it, and they are all impressed with it.

I do not know how the BSA scopes handle on larger calibers, but I do know if you buy one for a rimfire, they are worth looking into.

This is the comment I made in the other thread about rimfire scopes:

I don't know about anything heavier, but I have a BSA Sweet 223 scope on my bolt action .223 and it seems to be holding up just fine.

My Savage MKII came with a BSA variable-power scope when I bought it two years ago. I've never felt the need to change or upgrade from the BSA.

I heared from a friend at the sporting goods store, Bsa is making a new sweet 17 scope. it is rumored to be a 4-16x44 with 20gr,17gr,15gr,and a 25gr turits. this is suposed to be coming out when federal releases their 17hmr 25gr holowpoint.

I would like to see it, have tried to look for it, but not seen it yet.

My uncle has a BSA on a .17 hmr Marlin. Nothing bad to say at all about the scope. BSA is affordable and made in the US, I don't think you can go wrong unless they don't make a model in the magnification you're looking for.
