Update on Pending Assault on Ammunition Sales in California

Please Continue to Contact the Members of the Assembly Committee on Public Safety!

Assembly Bill 962, sponsored by Assembly Member Kevin De Leon (D-45), has been pulled from the Assembly Committee on Public Safety. The bill still could be heard next week, however.

AB962 would make it a crime to privately transfer more than 50 rounds of ammunition per month, even between family and friends, unless you are registered as a “handgun ammunition vendor” in the Department of Justice’s database. Ammunition retailers would have to be licensed and store ammunition in such a manner that it would be inaccessible to purchasers. The bill would also require purchasers submit to fingerprinting, which would be submitted to the Department of Justice. Lastly, mail order ammunition sales would be prohibited.

Please continue to contact the members of the Assembly Committee on Public Safety and respectfully urge them to oppose AB962. Contact information can be found below.

Wait a minute... does this mean that a father cannot let his son shoot more than 50 rounds per month?

That's the point, this way the kid can only kill 50 people... I mean... what other purpose could there be of unleashing such a wicked amount of firepower?

Don't know what this law is supposed to do other than mess with law abiding citizens and create another futile bureaucracy. These people don't get it, not a clue! What they need to do is enforce the laws already in place, not encumber us with yet another. TJ

This is nothing more than another inch of our freedom that they are attempting to take away. The don't give a sh!!t about our rights, it is only about their own agenda to take away guns. The state of Cal is nothing but a joke when comes to the people. It is ran by nothing but socialists that will sell the tax payer down the river if it means they can get re-elected. I have emailed the representives of my disgust for what they are attempting to do. Politely of course. Another 3 years and I am out of here.

50 rounds is a figure that indicates (or rather proves) the gross ignorance of anti-gun politicians. 50 rounds wouldn't get most folks warmed up at the average range. These guys go out of their way to prove how ignorant they are about gun owners.

I sometimes think that if someone attempted to create a parody mocking anti-gun politicians that the parody wouldn't reach as far as the real actions some of these mind-numb twits are taking.

Tell a neighbor, that you buy primers by the thousands, and powder by the pound. chances are, you'll see a "For sale" sign on there lawn the next day.
I made that mistake once, she called the police, who referred her to the Fire Marshall who contacted me. Of course everything was OK, but I realized the average citizen knows nothing of people like us, or those that protect them.

PS. I have talked to police officers, many who are like us, but some were appalled to learn that "WE" were allowed to "Stockpile" that kind of stuff.
    The point is...

We need to educate these people, but do it S-l-o-w-l-y, and carefully!

It would be hilarious if it weren't serious. They, the anti-gun crowd, know only urban use of guns in crime. They think that if only they come up with the right law, all will go away. News flash: IT WON'T:eek::eek: TJ

I'm in the process of writing e-mails to the above Assemblymembers. I thought I'd share my brief message for anyone who dislikes writing. Brief e-mails are best, I've heard, and I'm trying to make my point without sounding like...well...a "right-wing extremist." I don't know that I'm saying all that should be or could be said, but it's SOMEthing, and y'all are welcome to borrow it...modify it...whatever.

"Copy and paste" is your friend...just don't forget to change the A'member's name each time! :)

    Dear Assemblymember ________:

I am writing to strongly urge you to vote NO on AB962. Should this bill become law, it would be extremely expensive and time-consuming to enforce, and terribly restrictive in regards to selling and purchasing ammunition.

Thank you for your thoughtful consideration.

    Sincerely,
