I know that the CCI 550 is spec'd for magnum cartridges, but if it's available, is there any good reason not to use it for 9 mm Luger? This isn't a good time to be picky, and I'll take what I can buy, but I don't want to load anything that might be dangerous. One source suggested reducing the powder charge by about .5 grains to compensate for the hotter charge in the magnum primer, but another source says that the only difference is the height of the primer body.

As the commercial says, "They can't put anything on the Internet that isn't true." Right... So what's the real scoop? Has anyone here tried using the magnum primers in a standard 9 mm load? How did it work out?
