All "non-toxic" shot is harder than lead so it depends on which type you use. Bismuth is harder than lead, but is safe to shoot through barrels and chokes designed for lead - as are some of the polymer-blend shot. But steel and iron-based shot must be shot through barrels and chokes made for steel.
Since you didn't indicate which type you will be using I would err on the side of safety and use a Full choke made for steel as long as your barrel is approved for steel shot.
Mind is a turkey choke its the screw in one I have looked at the hev shot load everybody I talk to said the hev shot would best but would to have another choke for it
You should pattern it. Yours will probably work fine, but you need to try it out to make sure.
