[Nick Bacon]

I was wondering about the possible manufacture date of a Colt DA 45 serial number 298855.
The number is only on the crane recess and crane arm--not the butt. I'm guessing that it was made after WWI since there are no Army markings? These would also be worth less than those with Army markings?
