The Colt Diamond Back .38 spl. 6 in., adj sights, steel frame, checkered walnut grips, made 1966-86.
Last Mfg.'s Sug. Retail was $461.

95% $340 add additional $150 for 100% specimens.
Add 20% for nickel finish.
(Note: The .22 LR is very scarce) Made 1979.

The Colt Diamondback.

What a great pistol!!

Little brother to the Python I always thought.

I used to own 5.

But alas I'm down to two.

Congratulations!

don, your Diamondback is worth $600+ today. Diamondback prices have gone crazy lately. The Blue Book numbers don't reflect the real world prices.

Probably closer to $700 - $750 due to the 2.5" barrel. I have one of each (.22lr and .38 SP) in 4" barrel lengths. Just gotta love em.

Can't tell DOM without a serial number.

The list I have says in 1977 they stared with N, while in 1978 they started with R13901, so I'm pretty sure that your R01117 was made in late 1977.
