:dontknow:My wife was given her grandfather's Colt pistol. I would like to get a good estimate of what it is worth. It has Police Positive on the barrel. Acording to the serial# 6424 (c I think) it is a 1911 .22 target pistol and looks like there was 3,000 made. There is more pateina than bluing. It shoots fine. I have seen a wide price range. See the attached pictures. We will nost likely keep it, but I'm trying to decide if I should clean it up and re-blue the pistol. Would that make it less valuable.
