I have not been able to remove the ejector rod from this firearm. I have smithed Pythons before but never had to repair this part. I have read several post about doing this but I cant seem to make any progress for fear of breaking something. Any expertise would be greatly appreciated.

You unscrew the retaining nut from the ejector housing and pull the rod and spring out forward.

Can you elaborate? I haven't seen the nut you refer to. Is this at the front of the cylinder? The only Python diagram I have seen doesn't show this part.

Yes, I've seen this. My problem is I cant remove the ejector "star" at the back of the cylinder.

That unscrews "Letty loosely"

I thank you for that. Only problem is that it will not unscrew. That is why I mentioned in the beginning that I was nervous about damaging the assembly.
