im getting cratered primers due to an oversize firering pin bore in my bolt. its a remington 700 action. ive heard of other people having the same problem. even with the lightest loads ive tested. my question is does this cause a problem with accuracy? does anyone else have the same problem?

No it will not affect accuracy. As you have found out this is very common in the Rem 700. Yes,I have a couple and they all do it.

The only thing it will affect is your ability to detect or read the primer (cratered primer) as a high pressure sign. Not to worry as this technique for reading high pressure is a Kin to reading tea leaves, so you are not missing much if anything.

Follow your manuals, use a chrony and enjoy your rifle.
