This is a picture of the first Jacob Grey Custom 1911 45ACP I was fortunate to be chosen by a friend that is part owner of the company that makes them to fire it on my shooting range he wanted it to be tested to find the kinks in it. Me and my son fired this pistol until it locked up then we had a Federal Tool and Die Maker determine why it locked up. This lock up was due to the tolerances of some working parts being to close. It went back to the design board to fix the things we found wrong and address the issues the Tool and Die Maker made known to them. Second time around it did not lock up. These are not your every day pistol they are high dollar pistols. Some of these pistols Prices start at $9,720 and up (based on customization).

Pretty for sure, and I'm sure they're very high quality hand made masterpieces but no pistol is worth 9K.

I agree with firefighter - pretty but I just don't see the value in a $9K pistol.

    Definitely pretty.

But way out of my price range.

I agree with you howlnmad, no gun is worth that to me, not even with some of my finest grips.

If I won the lottery I would by 2. Since that hasn't happened yet I guess I will have to hold off. There are guys at my shotgun club that have hand fitted $35k or more shotguns. My son can outshoot them with his $900 used BT-99.

My $1000 Colt 1911 and my $3500 Beretta Black Onyx is as far as I can go.

Les Baer's custom engraved presentation model is just over 7K, and over twice his "regular" custom 1911's. I find it hard to understand any gun worth 2K more than one of the finest custom made 1911's out there... Centennial-new-main.jpg

Since I have been fortunate enough to fire the Jacobs Grey weapons they are nice but I believe my Springfield 1911 is a better pistol and do not cost quite as much. springfield 1911.png

My Springfield can outshoot me, and that is plenty good enough. Even if I were willing to spend $9K, I would bet the difference between my Springfield and the $9K that the improvement at my skill level attributable to the more expensive gun, would be so small it could not be measured. Plus, I can pay a lot of range fees and buy a lot of ammo for the $8,325 (plus tax) I saved by not buying a $9K gun and have a lot more fun improving my groupings.

If there is a prettier pistol out there than the 1911 I have yet to see it.

I agree. The slide is around 1K from Caspian. Other than the frame I don't see the value either.

Just custom fit the barrel and frame/slide. Other than that trigger job. The rest is just checkering.

I have never cared for pistols that look like left over parts put together
Either all blue or all stainless.... commit!!
Especially when you are spending that kind of money
