Recently while I was going through all my old stuff I came across this kit. The box isn't in good condition but everything else is. Every piece of metal in it is rusted so it is very old. I did some research and I was unable to find the price of one of these kit's successfully, but I did find the price of some of the pieces. I was hoping that I would be able to find the price of the kit. It also has the original non drying Prussian blue paint. Thanks

Ummmmm

Really hard to give a value on something we cannot see. I suggest uploading some good pictures and you'll robably get the answer(s) you're looking for.

It is difficult to say with the pictures you provided, is the barrel wrapped in something or is that rust?

If you search *********.com you will see similar kits listed for $100-$125, but they appear to be in better shape than this kit.

prepare for a ton of photos. by the way the wood feels rough and like it has never been sanded, there was never a finish put on it so the paint is unused (actually when i squeeze the paint thing it squishes in my hands but i don't know if that adds to the original value.) no marking on anything in the kit. (remember that i'm trying to get the value of this kit)

Unfortunately, the barrel condition and torn box will reduce the value. You have to consider the person who would be interested in a CVA kit wants everything as it would have been 30 years ago. The barrel will take a lot of work to clean up, and that's just on the outside. There are kits still out there in better condition. I think the value is around $75 to the right buyer.

We do have a buy and sell forum, but you need a post count of 25 to use it.

I think Shrek is close on value give or take a few bucks, it's too bad the barrel looks like it's been attacked with a hatchet, those dings aren't going to polish out very easily.

If you have an E Bay account list the stock and related parts in one auction and the barrel in a separate listing. Who knows, you might get more than 75 bucks especially if you get a bidding war going on.

I have one that I purchased in the late 1970s. I believe I paid $49 for it. It is not a faithful reproduction of anything. I made sights for it out of an old brass key. It was very accurate and fun to shoot with a patched ball and 40 grains of Pyrodex P. I still have it.
Yeah, 49.00 was the going price for CVA kits in the late 70's at places like Otasco's

I've never built a pistol kit but I've built several from scratch & worked on dozens of them for collectors & dealers. From what I see in your pix I don't think it is hurt much by the rust. It's to make an "antique" so the more old, Used & repaired it looks, the better. I agree otherwise with nost of the foregoing. I'd post on eBay with the photos & info you have with a $50 starting price. IMO it can get bid up to $100 or more ----->

I have one of these kits that I finished. I would say this kit is worth about $50. Big question is what the bore looks like. The rust doesn't look too bad, but the dings in barrel are tough. The ramrod thimble does not look original at all, nor does the inletting in the stock for it. Prussian blue was not included in the original kits.
