This is from an article in the St. Petersburg Times Newspaper on Sunday.

The Business Section asked readers for ideas on "How Would
You Fix the Economy?" I think this guy nailed it!

    Dear Mr. President:

Please find below my suggestion for fixing America 's economy.

Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan.

You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:

There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force.

Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:

    1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.

    2) They MUST buy a new American CAR. Forty million cars ordered - Auto Industry fixed.

    3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - Housing Crisis fixed.

It can't get any easier than that!

If more money is needed, have all members of Congress and their constituents pay their taxes...

Wow, I wonder if it could be that simple? Sounds like something off the movie 'Dave'. It wouldn't hurt to give it a shot. :)

It would never work. The socialists would just tax it to the point to where the retirees get only a few cents.

If they didn't tax it, it would work like a charm.

Sorry but my calculator don't go that high.

My cypherin says that would be 4 trillion dollars.

And that money comes from where?

$4 trillion , this is about what they are going to spend anyway, will come from the same place the $3.2 trillion will.??????? The interest on the $3.2 trillion is only a little over $800 billion a year. NO PROBLEM, just print more money and borrow some more from the Chinese , so we can give people jobs leaning on a shovel while the people who really know how , do the work, and give the shovel leaners a paycheck to go buy products made in China, and we can pay more taxes to keep up the new roads no one can afford to drive on.
Some how I don't see the logic in this.

WOO HOO, I'll be 51 in May!

Sounds like a plan I could go for.

I would add one more stipulation........ Everyone must buy a new gun!

I know the gun industry doesn't need a fix right now but why wait until it's a problem?
    :D

    Where do I sign up?
