Plan and simple springfield or spartin?
That is tough... Names in a hat.. swishing.. swirling.. and the winner is.. Spartan.
Filippin a coin, Heads its a springer, tails is a spartan, and the winner is... Spartan.
Good enough for me..
I'd go with Springer as the Spartan has a RIA frame & slide. Nothing wrong with RIA but I prefer the Imbel forged slide & frame of Springers...
I have seen a range officer it was no nicer than the Spartan , but I have not shot either
I opted for the STI Spartan and have not had second thoughts. It's a very good value IMO.
I have owned and built many SA 1911's. They were mostly Mil Spec versions and a few were Loaded models. The Mil Spec pistols were accurate and reliable after doing the work and they held the accuracy work for a long time. I have always done a trigger job and some minor fitting on the Loaded models.
I demand a lot out of my 1911's, so, for the money spent, Spartan. Match ready out of the box.
Thanks for all the advice. I'm still looking for a 1911 in .45 cal.
I did find a citadel compact, with a range pack. I think I will pick up.
I did order a colt 1911-22 gold cup. that should be here friday or sat.
Thanks again. still might get tha springfield and the sparten both also.
we shall see
