After what must be 35 years my old Pact digital has given up its ghost. After having done a bit of on line shopping it occurred to me to ask folks what they prefer. All I want is a simple scale. Its biggest use would be weighing bullets and checking the occasional black powder charge. I have negative numbers interest in a powder dispensing/scale combination of any kind.

I went with a hornady 1500gr scale. I can’t recall the exact model and I’m at work right now so I can’t check. It runs on A/C and batteries also I believe. I won’t buy a scale that is battery only or a scale that is too cheap. I’ve bought cheaper ones before and they were no good. One of which was a Lyman.
However, I see hornady has a new M2 1500 bench scale. I would buy that myself because I trust the hornady scale that I already have.

I bought a cheap scale off of ebay. I check it with my balance beam and I've never had a problem with it.
Yes... but, I keep at least a Dime handy... (35 Grains)
and you will find that "sneaking up" on a charge, as with a dribbler does Not ensure uniformity... throw some on yer BB scale ans see!! I have yet to have a digital scale that can be "on" with a Dribbler.
Therefor, I lay the powder scoop on the scale and remove to "check" the weight..Works for Me. Something you can ignore with yer balance beam....

Mine doesn't have a dribbler. All it does is weigh.

I had the little Frankford scale that just runs on batteries. Thing liked to float numbers so I could never fully trust it then the batteries corroded and killed it.
Got a great birthday deal from Midway on the National Metallic 1600 digital scale. It runs batteries or wall warts so I can leave it on long enough to warm up and settle in.

My PACT BBK II has been plugged in and turned on for 20 years. Still weighs out accurately.
When I got it, I was looking at the RCBS until the salesman pointed out that both of them were made by the same company. Just slightly different plastic faces.

I bought the Lyman 1000 XP digital scale. Don't even know if they still make it or what the price is, paid about 40 bucks back than and still have all my fingers.

I have used a RCBS RangeMaster 750 for years, all it does is weigh, nothing else. I am extremely happy with it. A little over a year ago, a fellow TFF member and friend (accident) and I were talking about a scale that he owned that was also a trickler. I bought one of the RCBS Chargemaster Lite and pretty much been using it exclusively.

I would recommend the Rangemaster 750.

I learned about a week after I bought my Pact, all those years ago, it wasn't going to get along with my RCBS powder dribbler. Consequently I've always used my beam scale and intend on doing so. I did like the digital for weighing and sorting cast bullets and it's ok for checking/setting my Belding & Mull powder measure. That's about all it got used for almost since I had it.

This is the one I've been using for a couple years. Haven't pulled the beam scale out in a long time. When you close the lid on it, it holds the weigh plate down so it doesn't get stretched out when you move it around or lay it on its side. Makes sub moa ammo with no trouble and can take to range if needed. The powder pan with funnel on it is a big time saver and the dipper holds about 20 grains. It's also short and small enough that tricklers work with no problems setting on the bench top.

I’ve got digital tools and scales but I can’t trust them. I always check them against verniers, beam or other old school devices. Actually would like to have cheap digital scale with no frills. Something I could use my test weights to check. I would think that one branded with loading company logo would be more than same scale from manf.

I actually have a powder dispensing/scale made by Hornady and it is very accurate. I double check every 10th load with another digital scale and never got a deviation. I dispense with it and dump powder into case and while it is dispensing the next charge I transfer case to press to insert bullets. After all are loaded I then crimp. Can load about 100 handgun rounds or 75 rifle rounds and hour. That is with single stage press.

I have the Frankford Arsenal Platinum. What I like best is it can either be AC powered or battery. It comes with a decent carry case, test weights and a powder pan. I use both the mechanical RCBS scale and the digital Frankford. Weights are consistent between the two. I paid $80 for the Frankford Arsenal Platinum.
