Got a quick question for someone familiar with the EAA Witness or other CZ75 clones.

Here's a picture of some brass fired through a (new to me, but used) 9mm Witness.
You can see a skid mark from the firing pin on about 75% of the brass from this pistol. This particular bunch is Winchester White Box 115gr but American Eagle 124gr FMJ does the same thing.
I haven't run any reloads through this pistol yet, but I'll suspect they will do the same.

Does this look like the pistol is unlocking early? That's my initial diagnosis.
I'm thinking possibly a weak recoil spring. What else might I look for?

Ive seen that before. The Witness F-pin heavily protrudes and wont retract by they time the slide opens. Wolff sells a Recoil spring kit that has a f-pin spring with it. That solves that problem.

I gave it a good detail strip last night and yep I see what you're saying. It does have a pretty light firing pin spring.
I was kinda concerned that it might lead to a bent firing pin eventually.

I haven't ordered a new spring kit for it yet, that is on my to-do list for this one. Will give that a try.
