I just got a puppy (we call him the "poopy" for obvious reasons), and are thinking of suitable names. His mom was half boxer and half English bull-mastiff, and his dad was a black labrador retriever. Everybody who sees him (at his present fifteen pounds) exclaims, "how precious!" - I've been thinking of naming him "Precious", because I can see that wrinkly face on a dog weighing two hundred pounds. ("Precious!! Kill!!")

I was thinking of a name relating to firearms, easy to say, easy for the dog to distinguish, neither "cutsey" nor intimidating. Any ideas?

Yes, but not a dog. I had a cat I called 'Magnum' because I got him the same week I picked up a new S&W 686. :)

    how about remington or winchester

  4. How about Gewehr (pronounced "ge" as in "get" and "ver" as in "very."). In German, the word means "rifle." Just a thought. ;)

I'm getting quite a chuckle out of this, and some good suggestions - What have y'all named your dogs, just as a matter of curiosity?

I've had four Springer Spaniels: MacDuff (He was extremely loyal to me, name comes from Shakespeare's "Macbeth"), Sinbad (He acted like a pirate-traveler.), Winston (very methodical in his work) and the only one I have left now is Lexi (alpha-dog, named after my Lexus as she has spots that spell an "L"). I guess I've gone on long enough!
