Got to a very chilly range yesterday and we ended up staying for two and a half hours LOL. Shot my new Sig Sauer 1911 .22 LR. Used mostly the ARMSCOR ammo I got for $22 for 500 brick. Ran two mags through without an issue. Shot from about 10 yds at first and had a fairly tight grouping high and left. So we took it to the bench and adjusted back sight a little right and swaped the tallest front sight for the middle height of the three provided. I then shot a group of 10 and put all within 3" of the bullseye. I am very happy. I ran about 200 rounds through it and had only one misfired round and with one mag full I had an issue with extraction. Two did not extract and they were from the same mag. The rest of the day I had no issues at all. Do not know if the extraction issue was something I did with loading that one mag, the 18 degree weather, the ARMSCOR ammo or being just a hiccup with a new gun and extractor. In any event that happened early on and then no issues the rest of the day.
We also took our .22 Marlins and had a blast and also my future son in laws .223 Bushmaster. Man that was a blast. I never shot one before. Also his Ruger Single six .22 along with my Taurus .40 S&W and his Colt .45 ACP. We had a very good day out and then a few beers at the gun club after. I think I love my soon to be son in law LOL.
