I have a revolver I'm trying to identify . It has a folding trigger and folding hammer. On cylinder there is a Crown with a circle enclosing a 8. On top strap is G. Morian Brevete next line is Avenue De L'opera 36 next line is Paris. Barrel has JOHN DIXON CIBBS or GIBBS on left side, right side has Crown over R and Star over W. Frame has Star over W. I will add more detailed photos in morning. I have original grips checked wood, removed for picture Thanks j d savage
Morian Brevete was a gun trader 1880 / 1890 in Paris. This Bulldog revolver is made in Belgium, the proof marks are from Liége, Belgium. Crown over R = proof for rifled barrels, star over W = proof inspector mark.
May be the famous engineer John Dixon Gibbs was in former times the owner of this revolver.
