I am going to be getting a new boom stick. And needing opinions. Here are my options.

    FN FAL or
    M1A/M14 or
2 new uppers for my ARs. I have 1 ar that is a 223 heavy 24" barrel and one that is 308 20" heavy barrel. The new ones might be a 243 and a 204. The jury is still out on the new calibers if I go that route. I may stay same calibers and go shorter and lighter barrels. Both of my ARs are RRA.

M1A, for some long range 7.62 NATO goodness:D:D:D Reach out and touch something....with a .308:eek::D:D

Hope you can find a decent price on one. Around here the only time you see them is with a pricetag in the neighborhood of $2400:eek::eek:

My vote goes for the FN FAL, but do make sure it's an FN. Everything good you've ever heard about the FAL is about the ones made by a decent manufacturer, and everything bad you've ever heard about the FAL is about the ones made by "someone" and imported from "somewhere."
From how I understand it, there is a vast quality difference. From my perspective, it's worth the extra money to do it right (which is why an FAL is so far out of my budget right now :().

FAL They don't call it 'The Right Arm of The Free World' for nothing.
Long Range? I bang a gong at 500 yards all day long with mine.

FAL or a M1A, you can't go wrong with them!
