I've got one I keep in my nightstand. I carry it every time I'm out in the woods, or hunting. Grandpa is a marine, as is my dad, so its like carrying a piece of them with me.

Beautiful knife - and a good friend. The only Ka-bar I still have is this modern Tanto point. I like the older classics better. I need to move this one at the next gun show, I have had it for years and never used it. kbar.jpg

Gifted? Is it a child prodigy? Like....could it play Handel's "Messiah" in its entirety at 3 yrs. old? Or was it simply given to you as a gift?

I was gifted….....that always confuses me.....if it's past tense, what happened? Is one now "un-gifted?"

Good Morning Young Man and you seemed so pleased with the Marines in your family...That's
good and though I was the Seabee, our close associations with the Marines is always and lasting.
I scrounged a K-Bar off and old Marine Gunny in Vietnam in 1968....kept it with my gear the rest of the time in the service for I retired in 1971 with 20 years...I often write on here about the navy Seabees making footlockers for the Marines with those hidden compartments in the lid... Here, many years later I get a son-in-law for my youngest daughter back in 2004...he saw my
Marine K-Bar once and admired it greatly ...he wept when he told me his older brother had
been killed in the Beacon Hill operation ...His brother was Marine Cpl.Tony Velason.. I gave
the Marine K-Bar to him along with the wall mounted plaque that I'd crafted for it...Chief
