Spending $600.00 is quite a feat and works well for magnum power, it`s really ashame Ruger failed at it.

Purchase a "QUALITY SCOPE" ; after spending some time under it, then decide.

If they make a .17 HMR conversion for it, you might consider that. I know thay make one for the Ruger 10/22, and that does look like a Ruger.:D

Alright, scope first! Now, do I go fixed or variable? I already have a scope picked out for this babby, but I would like to know what you think it should wear. Also, I am thinking about that stock. Should I go with a military look, or laminated wood?

    :D:D:D

    OK, gotta know why myself?

My middle-aged eyes ain't what they used to be. Used to have better than 20/20 vision until age 41 came around. PFFFT!! Out the window that went. That was 10 years ago.
Without scopes my shooting would be waaay hampered. It's bad enough as it is with hands that now shake that's busted me down to so-so shooter status.:(
Take away my scopes and I'd have to retire my rim fires.:eek::eek:
    How much would THAT suck?!
    See my sig line...

Don't skimp on the scope, how do you plan on using it? That's the determination for fixed over variable. I prefer investing in a good Leupold scope with legit mounts
