Any suggestions? I think I need a scope on my .223 wylde build. My eyes are not what they once were. I'd like to have 1x option though I've read they are never really 1x more like 1.25x. Looking to spend less than 300.

I have a Millet DMS 1-4 on my mini 14 and a 1-6 on my AR10. I like them both and prefer the Millet reticle to others I have seen. The price on the 1x6 was about $255 if I recall correctly.

    1x4s are dropping big time in price,now that 1x8s are hitting market.Vortex has a 1x6 for under 300,I think.My eyes are old too-I have a 1x6 monstrum-which is FFP great glass/typical overweight though($$$$$=light)for 165 on a .300 I don't shoot over 200yds.Love my 1x8s but they are pricy.

Try the Vortex 3x Prism. I have it on one of my ar's, I really like it. They have a 1x too, both of these are red dots though.

I have a Bushnell AR15 Series 1 to 4. Clear Optics and not too expensive! I like it! Primary Arms has a really nice 1 to 6. I bought their 300 Blackout Optic in the same version, and love it.

Vortex are great, as is primary arms. Often times they have major sales nearly all year long. And also keep an eye on dsg arms they are always having package sales. For example 10 pmags and optic for often just the optic price.

I've been looking at Bushnell but its low price made me wonder. It holds zero no problems with it?

So far so good! I've not put a lot downrange with this build yet, but I like the early results. The adjustment dials are not covered and fairly easily manipulated, so in a soft side or hard shell case, it may move the dials. Hasn't happened to me yet, but I thought it could be possible. I do like the Primary Arms optic better, but for the price, the Bushnell is a good deal.

I've had great luck with a few UTG scopes that were right around $100.

Not much recoil from a .223 round, so even the cheaper scopes should hold up fine.

I'm looking at the 1-6 power Cabalas AR optic for 200. With mount. A lot of options for these optics which is great5. But choices, choices.

I see you wear glasses and aren't a spring chicken(I'm much older),buy a 1x6-you'll end up buying 1 6months down the road anyway.
