Ha, for some reason that brought back a memory from the movie Full metal jacket.

The new guy asks the door gunner, “How can you shoot at women and children?” He replies, “It’s easy, you don’t lead em as far.”

Thanks, Tranter. Now I'll never get to sleep. :D
Just kidding. As I'm typing this if I lift my head about 60° or so I'd be staring directly at a Dillon Aero calendar and I bleed Dillon Blue. ;) :D

I hope you and everybody else has a great day. :)

    Well Good Morning, Tranter-dude!
The sun is just creeping above the line of the Appalachians, the sky is crystal-clear blue, and I've a full cuppa coffee. It's gonna be a wonderful day!

Ahhhhhhh, there's nothing more exciting in the morning than the brrrrrrrrrrrrrr of a good working minigun. Having fired thousands and thousands of of rounds through one myself in a Cobra when I was in the Army I can say it's a REAL thrill.:D

When you see the red tracers that look like they are 1 inch apart remember that there are 4 other non-tracer bullets between each tracer. You can't fully appreciate what 4,000 rpm looks like until you get over water and can see each impact. It's a LOT of bullets. Those minigun's use 7.62 NATO rounds by the way. We used to literally cut NVA sanpans in two out in the South China Sea along the coast of Vietnam. It's very bad ju-ju to shoot at a Cobra when you're out on the ocean in a sanpan!

I also had a 2,000 rpm 20mm Vulcan cannon of the same design as the minigun under my wing with a 3,000 meter range. That baby would mow down trees like an invisible chainsaw! The rounds were high explosive armor piercing type.

  11. Mornin' Tranter. Ah yes, the venerable Huey with an M134 mounted in the door. Peace through greater firepower, as they say. ;) Victor Charlie didn't much care for that combo as I recall. :D
