I just bought a 1943 m38 Mosin Nagant carbine for $200. I know a tiny bit about Mosins but I am no expert and would appreciate a second opinion. I know the price has gone up in the last few years and I haven't seen another m38 for sale in my area, but I'm starting to have second throughts. Was this a good buy? What is considered a decent price for m38s now?

    Thanks in advance!

    not sure on that model
I know about 5-7 years ago, I was buing the 91/30s for $79 each on sale at Big Five
I bought about 12 in one year. I went through them and cleaned them up. I ended up keeping the nicest hex ones for myself, the rest got traded off after the prices went up close to $200 each

    Let's see.
    Totally reliable,
    Ammo available, including softpoint,
Shoots hard, will take any game we got,
When it goes Bang, everybody listens,
Some very fine people have Mosins, I have two.
    You've done fine. Enjoy it. MN7.62 Ray's.JPG MN762Scout.JPG

In today's market I think $200 is a good price. 91/30's are priced in the LGS's for $280 but I've found gun prices to be very regional.
