Last year, I sent my Marlin model 62 256 out to have reblued. When I bought it, it was in mint condition. I lent it to my son and he put it back in a case wet, and it rusted pretty good. My heart sank and I was devistated. I sent it to a guy in upstate pa, Wells custom guns. He told me it would be about a year since he was a one man operation and backed up. Anyway, I got the gun back today and was floored. It looks like it just came out of the factory!!!! He did an amazing job and shipped it back to me for free!!! I drove up to get it last weekend and he was having problems with the safety. He wanted to keep it and make sure it was right before he gave it back to me. Because I drove the almost 6 hours to get it, He offered to ship it back to me on his dime. I am absolutely tickled pink. I got my gun back and it looks and works great!!! Oak

He did try to call me when I was on my way, but my phone kept cutting out. He could have texted me, but he didn't think of it😏. Either way, I am super happy with it and sent him a Dan Wesson 44 that was rusted as heck to reblue. I bought it for 100 bucks at an estate sale two years ago. I'm going to keep it, so I don't care if it reblued.

I don't have any issue with a gun that is not a collector quality piece having been reblued. I have a couple and as long as the Smith did a nice blue job I am perfectly happy. My Colt detective was well worn from years in an ankle holster and it will always be a reblued gun that has very few rounds fired but looks great after the bluing was done. Sure it would be more valuable if it never had any wear but I always saw it as a tool and always will.
