Not well versed in the H&R revolvers so I will defer to the experts. You may want to change the name of your thread to include the H&R .38 S&W so the H&R experts find your question quicker.

Pictures of the top of the gun and other roll stamps...

Without seeing the rest of the gun, all I can tell you at the moment that it is a post-1904 solid frame, with the safety hammer. ...which probably makes it a "H&R Safety Hammer Double Action, 2nd Model".

It is a smokless model chambered for .38S&W(not .38 S&W Special).
