    I used to have a chart showing the manufacturing years associated with the various letters and numbers (and prior to the letters) but I don't have it anymore. I can't remember when my 999 Sportsman was made: BA prefix. (Not an old one, sorry) Also, a co-worker found an old H&R 929 (4in) in her pond. The pond was very low, and it was barely out of the water, in the mud, when she found it. (She has lived there about 15yrs) I haven't seen it yet, but she was told by the sheriffs dept. that it was made in 1959. What should the prefix be, and number range, if this is correct? She is in the process of getting it all cleaned up. Considering it has been in the water and mud for years, it sounds like it is pretty good condition.

    BA prefix is 1984
    1959 = V prefix
