I'm looking through a list of confiscated items up for auction by the DNR and there is a 32 gauge Special on the list. This is identified as a tranquilizer gun on one internet source. Anyone heard of it?

there was a patent issued to a georgia company to convert single barrel shotguns into tranquilizer guns. i have lost the number and the name of the company. there is reason to believe this company had H&R manufacture these guns for them. does it have any other markings on it?

    The serial number is AX468614.

I'm mostly curious, as I've never seen one of these around here and wonder how the DNR came about confiscating it in my state parks.

H&R used the "AX" letter codes in 1981

Interesting. Thanks Bill! I like H&R guns, I'll be looking at this one on auction Saturday morning.
