Repairing a very rusted H&R .22 pistol . Getting it to turn the cylinder is a challenge, I ordered a new cylinder lever with spring, but it still won't turn the cylinder, took it to a gunsmith who won't even touch it. Anyone have experience with this ?

Does the trigger work with the cylinder removed? Does the cylinder rotate freely?
There may be rust inside the frame, too.
The trigger and hammer works fine, cylinder rotates fine, I've cleaned up all the rust and reblued all the parts.

The lever must be fitted to each revolver. Your best bet is to find someone that has experience doing this.

That's not easy to find. I think the problem is in getting the right curvature of the spring.
I got it working! The cylinder crane has to be pushed forward enough to push on the cylinder to turn it. The hard part was getting the correct curvature of the spring.,
