The .32 S&W Long and .32 H&R, along with the .32 S&W and the .327 Federal Magnum have the same diameter bullet. The problem you are going to have is the cylinder deigned for the .32 S&W Long and is not rated for .32 H&R which operates at much higher pressure. The .32 H&R is .1.350" in length while the .32 S&W Long is 1.280" in length. Much like a .38 Special, you can fire .38 Specials through a .357 Magnum revolver, but you cannot fire .357 Magnum through a .38 Special revolver because the cases are too long to chamber in the .38 Specials cylinder. You can fire .32 S&W Long through an .32 H&R, but not the other way around.
