My family has come up with another pistol. It is an H&R 22 cal 7 shot rimfire.
Description of Pistol:
small frame, nickel plated frame, bluing on trigger guard. Nickel is about 98% intact. Grips are 100% intact.
Stamped on left side of Barrel:
22 RIM FIRE
Stamped on cylinder:
812 This number is stamped twice. Once on rim of cylinder and again near ejector.
Stamped on Butt:
287812
Stamped on bridge of barrel:
H.& R. ARMS CO.
worcester, mass., U.S.A.
I cannot find any patent dates or any other stamped info.
I would like to know what year it was manufactured? Is it a black powder pistol? Approximate value?
In researching black powder ammo, I find it is not readily available for someone that does not reload. I could not find a source for .32 S&W or 22 cal. All I could find is blanks. Maybe I wasn't looking in the right place.
