My dad's 949 was in pieces when I got it. So I don't know the orientation of the hand with spring assembly (pos. #23) on the schematic. I know it attaches to the lifters side post pin, and faces the cylinder... but where does the spring "react" off of? And does a new one need to be "fitted" to the gun by trimming said spring? Pic of disassembled firearm, with old and new hand with spring assembly.

Here is a couple of pics. 1 of the old "hand with spring" and 1 with the new "hand with spring"

The new one looks to be too long (some modification was required by manufacturer) the old one is too short (or broken) because it cycles fine, but the hand lever will fall back into the frame, not actuating the cylinder to the next cylinder bore. All I need to know, is where the spring rests, so I can trim it to the correct length.
