H&R Single Shot Receiver identification

Greetings,

I'm new to the forum, but I'm hoping that I can get a questioned answered. I picked up this receiver shown in the pictures below a couple of weeks ago as a project and was wondering just what do I have. I was told that it was a topper, but I can't find any receiver picture with a hole in the thread area for the stock bolt. Hope someone has some information to help identify what I have.

Perhaps I misread your question ( wouldn't be the first time ), However Numrich has a schematic of the H&R 98 ( Topper ) , It shows the receiver , stock and stock bolt?

I've looked at those schematics the only problem is, is that I have yet to find one with a hole in the rear of the receiver by the stock bolt. The inside of the hole is the same color as the outside finish on the receiver so it's not like it's an after thought as it where.
