Hi all,
I’m new here, in fact this is my first post . I recently acquired a H&R 22 cal 7 shot revolver with octagonal barrel. I’ve been reading different threads about serial numbers and D.O.M. Everything I find is saying something about prefix letters. This weapon does not have any prefix letters just numbers. Am I doing something wrong or missing something ?

As a matter of fact I did not happen to read that. LOL.
Stamped on frame directly above cylinder
H&R model
1906 22cal
Left side flat of barrel reads
22 RIM FIRE
Left side upper flat reads
H&R ARMS COMPANY
WORCESTER.MASS.U.S.A.
Weapon is loaded through a single opening on the right side. Cylinder retaining shaft has 4 knurled rings protruding from the front end of the frame. Barrel length is 2.5”
brand new old stock replacement grips
Hammer, trigger and guard are blued, the rest of the weapon is what I believe to be chrome plated.
There is a couple tiny dings on tip of barrel. Front site blade appears to be straight and intact. If I had to guess I would say this weapon is in very good to excellent condition. The serial number is stamped on the bottom of the frame between grips and and reads 10955. The same number is stamped under the grip on the side of the frame. Hope this helps.
