"I still have a lot to do such as finishing the sculpt, smoothing everything, and making sure everything is symmetrical."

    not done yet.

The guages are where I want them. They are easiest seen there and with the tablet being there, that's really the only option. The drivers AC vent isn't clayed in yet. give it time

Holy crap, long time no update!

so, while I've been away the spark notes of what happened are as follows

got the dash done and glassed, but it was destroyed in the mold extraction process  I have a back up idea though

the chassis is now on 4 wheels

    1.jpg

    2.jpg

and I went down a month long rabbit hole of searching for different tail lights (the ones supplied are off of a camper o_O ) so some of the body work is in place to mock up the brakes and reverse lights.

(PS, the seats in this picture will not work as they are too large :mad::mad: )

    4.jpg

my little brother for size comparison (he is 5'7" I believe)

    3.jpg

during all of this I was running out of space so I had to get extra storage in the form of a 12'x20' shed

    5.jpg

This shed is way fuller than in this pic now.

    6.jpg

At this point, the light that I was hoping would work showed up to my door (ordered 1 as a test unit) and it looks awesome!

This part was scary! Cutting holes for the reverse lights

here they are both in the car

    11.jpg

    outside ring is brakes

    12.jpg

    13.jpg

Reverse lights are.... bright. Might dim these bad boys

    14.jpg

    15.jpg

Cutting the hole for the big light was waaaaay scarier. but it looks amazing!

The next step is to tint the outside ring on the reverse lights to match the big tail lights. I also have to order 1 more light for the driver side. Sorry I haven't posted in a long time and I know I should be much further along, but I had some personal stuff go down with family and some personal issues to deal with, but I will not bore you with that sappy crap, everything is A-OK now

Also have to make brackets for all the lights, which I have no idea how I'm gonna do that as of yet. Next big step for the car is head work. Then it's small (but spensive) stuff on the engine before it gets dropped in.

Holy crap! Those light are bright! I really like how turn is yellow while stop is red, all in same circle

That car is basically a go kart. A fast fun one at that. Can I be your test pilot? I promise to not wash it. Lol

That's cool, I saw Stacey David on TV put a 302 kit and roll bar kit in a Miata.

You're obviously making progress and it looks good!! Projects like that ALWAYS take longer than we think they should.

Mid engine, fuel tank is behind bulkhead behind the driver and passenger seat

Thanks! Eating up most of my time and all of my money.

Lol money is the only thing slowing me up. Everything is so danged expensive!

    To finish heads I need;

    Cams- $900

    Machine work (includes valves/springs/locks) $2150

    Seals- $200>____

    Head studs $150

And a bunch of small stuff that adds up quick! I'll be glad when it's done

Could you imagine all the cool stuff we all could have & do if money wasn't a problem. ( manage to get into enough with money being a problem ! )
Without projects & wants it would be tough to get up in the morning !
