Thank you for having me. I have a few questions about black powder revolvers. I have an 1851 .44 navy Confederate sheriff. What are the grain loads for this model? Also can I put the long barrel on the sheriff?

If it's brass framed the recommended load is 15 grains 3f black by volume. The cylinder is capable of holding more powder but heavier loads will batter and eventually damage that brass frame.

As to changing barrels, if the longer barrel is from the same manufacturer and is of the same caliber it should fit.
