I have a Hopkins & Allen Arms five shot .32 cal revolver that I am trying to value. The pattent dates appear to be Jan 5 & Oct 5 '86 and s/n looks to be #551. While I know there are a lot of similar H&A revolvers out there, I have not seen one that appears to be chrome plated before. I thought it might be stainless, but it is mirror shiny (I could shave in it). Also given the patent dates and low s/n, might that indicate that it could be pre-turn of the century? Any help in valuing it would be appreciated.

Welcome to TFF.

Your pics are not clear enough to tell much about the finish, but if it is actually chrome and not nickel, it has been refinished.

It's probably pre 1900, as it matches the one below shown in 1896 Sears catalog, and the company went bankrupt in 1898.

Value if that's original nickel finish might be in the range of $100-$150, but much lower if chrome plated.

There are no serial number records.
